Practical Tips for Removing Front Ring Deposits in Tunnel Kilns

When the front ring inside tunnel kilns grows to a certain size, it will hinder flame observation, reduce ventilation area, impair fuel combustion, and damage the kiln coating and lining. Today, Yonghua Machinery, a manufacturer of mobile tunnel kilns, shares practical tips for removing front rings.
Front rings commonly occur in both rotary and mobile tunnel kilns. Main causes include overextended flames, backward shift of the firing zone, slow cooling of clinker, accumulated pulverized coal, and excessive liquid phase of materials leaving the firing zone. Since front rings mostly form at the junction of the firing zone and cooling zone, adjusting the flame position can achieve obvious improvement.
Two methods are available to eliminate front rings: slow burning and rapid burning.
Slow burning removes the ring over a long period. It is suitable for thick, wide and tall front rings as well as rings with damaged kiln coating.
Rapid burning clears the ring in a short time, which applies to front rings formed deep inside the kiln. The two methods share similar operation steps, differing only in burning duration and air volume control.
In short, please select the proper solution according to actual working conditions, otherwise you may get half the result with twice the effort. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
